NEW JUNIOR CAPTAIN ANNOUNCEMENT

By Admin

On 18th Dec 2017

It is with great pleasure that I can inform you that Huxley Howell has been chosen to be the Saltford Golf Club Junior Captain for 2018.

Huxley has been a junior member of the club since he was 9 so has a vast experience of junior golf from acquiring his first handicap through to County Junior golf and we are very excited about working with Huxley throughout 2018 and we know that you will all support Huxley during his year in office.

Huxley has come up with several ideas for new competitions and we will try to incorporate these into our already congested diary but one idea he had for a new competition for the black tee juniors was particular interesting and we look forward to releasing more details about this in the new year.

A message from Huxley follows and may we all take this opportunity to wish all our junior members and their families a great Christmas and a very successful, healthy and prosperous 2018.

Best regards

David Phillips.

“Dear all, I am honoured to be your Junior Captain for 2018 and I am proud to represent Saltford Golf Club in such a way. I’d just like everyone to know that my main focus this year is to make everyone happy and to allow everyone to have their voice heard. If anyone has any ideas/worries/problems please feel free to come and speak to me and I will either personally discuss them with you or forward them on to David, Tim or Bob. I hope to make a great captain and to make everyone proud of Saltford Golf Club.

Thanks Huxley Howell”

Important Starting Information

By Admin

On 28th Nov 2017

Dear Members,

This is an important announcement to ALL golfers.

After numerous emails and messages being sent to members about golfers starting before light, getting up behind working green staff and causing danger to our greens staff on a morning. Unfortunately this has been continuing on a daily basis, so with regret it has been decided at the latest general commitee meeting, that due to the health and safety of golf club staff the course will now be CLOSED on a morning until the Professional Shop arrive to OPEN the golf course.

THIS WILL TAKE IMMEDIATE EFFECT AS OF WEDNESDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2017

On an evening the course will be shut at dark with use of the course closed sign on the first tee and the starters hut board.

This will then be removed by staff of the Professional Shop when the shop is open or when they see appropriate and safe in the morning.

DO NOT TEE OFF BEFORE THE COURSE CLOSED SIGN IS REMOVED BY A MEMBER OF THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF

This is a measure we have been forced to take to ensure the safety of our Greens Staff. Any members who do not abide by these rules will face disciplinary action.

Hopefully this will be understood by all members.

Regards,

Saltford Golf Club Commitee & Professional Staff
